Dr Sarah Dawes is a Practitioner Psychologist (CPsychol) registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Specialising in forensic psychology practice she has worked in the field of forensic mental health for a number of years’ supporting individuals within inpatient settings and the community. Work roles have involved delivering psychological and risk assessments in order to provide information for clinical questions raised, inform treatment offered and help make appropriate decisions regarding patients care.

Therapeutic intervention has also been a daily part of practice offering both individual and group therapy. With the therapeutic methods used support can be beneficial to help deal with day to day problems, manage emotions and stressors, relationships, reduce risk behaviours or work towards meaningful goals to enhance quality of life. In order to do this a flexible approach is offered to help tailor therapy to the clients specific needs.

In addition to direct clinical work, lectures have been provided for university programmes and psychological training and supervision has been delivered for staff within services to help enhance employee’s knowledge base and understanding of various subject matters. The training delivered to service employees has been offered in order to help ease stress, facilitate a more thoughtful approach to work practice and in turn help provide improved service delivery.
